The Ararat Brandy Factory

The Ararat Brandy Factory, also known as the Yerevan Brandy Company, is one of the oldest and most renowned brandy producers in Armenia. Situated in the capital city of Yerevan, the factory has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1887 by Nikolay Shustov, a Russian entrepreneur.

Ararat brandy, often referred to as Armenian cognac, has gained international acclaim for its exceptional quality and unique flavor profile. The brandy is made using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients, including indigenous Armenian grape varieties. The production process involves distillation, aging in oak barrels, and blending to achieve the desired taste and aroma.

Visitors to the Ararat Brandy Factory can take guided tours of the facilities, where they can learn about the history and craftsmanship behind the production of Armenian brandy. The tours typically include visits to the aging cellars, where barrels of brandy are stored to mature, as well as tastings of various Ararat brandy products.

In addition to its production facilities, the Ararat Brandy Factory also houses a museum dedicated to the history of Armenian brandy-making. The museum showcases artifacts, vintage bottles, and historical documents related to the factory's heritage, offering visitors insight into the legacy of this iconic Armenian brand.
