Lake Sevan

Lake Sevan is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. Nestled in the Gegharkunik Province, Lake Sevan sits at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters (6,234 feet) above sea level. The lake covers an area of about 940 square kilometers and is known for its breathtaking scenic beauty, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and mountainous terrain.

Aside from its natural charm, Lake Sevan holds cultural and historical significance. The Sevanavank Monastery, perched on the lake's peninsula, is a notable landmark, reflecting Armenia's rich cultural heritage. The lake also serves as a popular recreational destination, offering opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating.
