Smbataberd

 

Smbataberd, also known as Smbat's Fortress, is a medieval fortress situated in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia, near the village of Artabuynk. Perched atop a rocky promontory at an elevation of over 2000 meters, Smbataberd commands a strategic position overlooking the surrounding landscape and nearby Selim Pass.
